I am a solicitor with 9 years’ experience in advising on employment law. I joined Real Employment Law Advice in April 2017 and I am based in our Salisbury office.
I act for both individuals and businesses and advise on a wide range of employment matters including disciplinaries, grievances, workplace discrimination, redundancies, Tribunal claims and settlement agreements. I enjoy helping customers to solve their workplace problems, whether it be an employee who is having a hard time at work or an employer who is experiencing difficulties with a member of staff.
Some of the cases I have advised on include:
Advising a multi-national company on the employment aspects of the sale of a mail distribution network involving the TUPE transfer of over 150 employees and implementation of a collective redundancy consultation programme;
Acting for an employee in her high value claims for constructive dismissal and a contractual redundancy payment, securing a six figure settlement prior to trial.
Representing a customer in her claim for unfair dismissal against a town council, securing a favourable settlement for her which included an open admission by the council that they had dismissed her unfairly.
Acting for an employee on long term sick leave who had been bullied and harassed at work, negotiating a substantial settlement payment for him with his employer.
My specialism is advising on maternity, pregnancy and parental rights and I am passionate about helping businesses to improve the workplace for working parents and helping employees to achieve a better work life balance. This interest has stemmed from my experience volunteering for charities who support families by providing free employment law advice, which gave me an insight into the difficulties experienced by parents in balancing work with family commitments. I also share Alison’s passion for striving to deliver a great customer experience and am proud to be part of the team at Real Employment Law.
